Tori Alamaze had 2 pregnancies that led to pre-term births due to a condition diagnosed as IC, or incompetent cervix. Many women experience pre-term births due to IC & need alternative options in order to have full-term births. (Usually occurs in 1 to 2% of pregnancies).
Every life, no matter how brief or fragile, should be remembered.
Abbeyloopers– (An online community that offers information & support for women who’ve suffered childbearing loss due to diagnosis of incompetent cervix). This particular and specific group was the beginning stage of her gathering the proper information leading to a healthy full-term pregnancy AND delivery December 21, 2014 after THREE losses.
Tori’s goal is to raise Cervical Support awareness & assistance to families needing TAC (transabdominal support).
After major challenges due to IC, she underwent surgery called TAC (Transabdominal Cerclage). This procedure is what gave her cervix the support it needed to carry full term. “What I realized is how lucky I had been to find a doctor in Atlanta where I lived that could even perform this specific procedure. Some women won’t have this as an option.” While Tori was fortunate, she had to haggle back and forth with her insurance company because her IC was considered a pre-existing condition. Tori’s goal is for the foundation to support a family needing help in this area and realize their dream of having children.
Oct 1, 2017 I had the opportunity to share my journey during an event for Infant loss & awareness month. It was full circle as it was the same hospital (Inova; Fairfax VA) where I experienced a perfect delivery of my daughter, Auset.
Above are names of my angel babies (boy/girl twins; Azza & Solomon, & son Issa).
